I'm Kim Petersen, an award-winning and bestselling author writing about women, relationships, self-trust, and the messy truth of midlife.
Much of my work lives in the places we're often encouraged to tidy up before we talk about them: love that changes us, relationships that cost us pieces of ourselves, starting again, getting older, being single, learning to trust ourselves after years of overriding what we knew, and becoming women who are less willing to abandon themselves for love.
I've been writing professionally for many years, across both fiction and nonfiction. My newest book, Midlife Soul Dating: A Woman's Spiritual Toolbox for Love, Dating, and Relationships, explores what happens when we stop making romantic love the starting point and begin with the relationship we have with ourselves.
I'm also the writer behind Midlife Soul Dating on Substack, where I go deeper into love, relationships, self-connection, and the inner work of midlife.

Go Deeper
If you're ready to explore these patterns beyond the essays, I've created two companion collections for deeper reflection and practice.
The Transmissions are immersive written experiences exploring self-abandonment, emotional patterns, availability, and the things we begin to recognize differently in midlife.
The Integrations take that recognition further, with practical reflection and inner work designed to help you integrate what you've uncovered.
